DIY {powdered} laundry detergent

so, i figured since i'm in waiting mode for baby #2 to come along i'd share my new favorite homemade laundry detergent.

i changed a few things and ended up cutting the recipe in half because i needed some of the supplies to make other home cleaners. i bought a nice large glass jar from Marshalls on sale for $5 to store it in my laundry room and the extra in a bucket. here is the link to the original recipe if needed. she says, if you make the full batch this will cost a total of $28 and last about one year. you only need 1 tbs for a small load and 2 tbs for a large load. my laundry has never been so clean or smelled so good!

1/2 box (4 lb 12 oz) Box of Borax
1 (14.1 oz) Bars of Zote Soap ( I used Fels Naptha) *grate with the finest side*
1/2 the bottle (55 oz) Bottle of Purex Crystals Fabric Softener ( I used the blue bottle-fresh waters)

it helps to mix the ingredients in a large bucket as there will be a lot of dust and this way you can make sure it's layered.

enjoy!
