busy, busy, busy...where does time go? i feel like we've been on overdrive the past few weeks with life and getting things done before baby #2 comes in just 8 weeks! I've been selling, buying and re-doing furniture. my type a personality makes me feel the need to get it all done before april 27th. i just finished the re-do of isabella's "big girl" bed...*sigh.* my aunt had given me a beautiful twin bed that she used as a child as well as myself and my cousin. the problem was it had gone through 3 kids and needed a little tlc. after sanding it, i primed and spray painted it. it just needs a quick coat of clear finish to protect it from my little munchkin. we plan on making the transition to her new bed very soon but we need to get a mattress. i'm in the process of updating her room to make it look less nursery-ish...pictures to come.
i also purchase an old dresser off someone to re-do as my downstairs entertainment center. we had a very nice but very dark one for ikea but i wanted something to hide more of our stuff and what better than having something with drawers? i'll keep you posted on that headache soon.
so on top of that i sold one of our couch sets! man i loved them and their coziness but we really need something that pulls out into a bed. can i mention that theses are hard to come by in this area. we've been everywhere and they either have nothing or they're possibly the most hideous things i've ever seen! i did however try the one on stillwater and found a set i liked but it's not cheap. i of course talked the guy down and convinced him to sell me the floor model at a discount. i told him i'd have to think about and talk to my husband. so, i guess we'll see what we end up with. having family and friends out of state, we really need something since we no longer have a guest bedroom.
as for isabella...she has been such a busy little bee these days. she's seriously high energy but not bad just likse to "go go go" as she says (thank you, cat in the hat knows best)! with a belly as big as mine and a lack of energy theses days, i'm having a hard time keeping up with the little miss. i have to blame myself for her lack of the need to sit still. i'm not the type to sit too long and relax and not be doing something. i find it hard to watch a movie without getting up to do something like clean or fold some laundry. well, that's exactly bella. she has this thing with tissues, wipes and dish towels. she finds them and then i find her on the floor scrubbing anything she can find. she asks me at least once a day or more for the vacuum. the other day i had the vacuum out and i caught her hugging and kissing it. oh man, i've created another me! besides her current OCD, bella has been doing amazing on the potty. she pees in the potty all the time and even without my assistance. she will pull down her pants and go on her own. of course i need to help her hike them back up. we must say "bye, bye pee, pee" every time and watch it as we flush. she's just so freaking cute! now pooping has been a process. i know almost every kid struggles with this and it takes time. she just doesn't like to sit. thankfully she only does that once a day or every other. i made a sticker chart called, "bella's poop chart" and every time she poops she will get a sticker and special treat. we will see how that goes. fingers crossed to only have 1 kid in diapers.
i have to mention because it just melts my heart, bella now prays at dinner time. oh my goodness, i could eat her. we will sit down and before we eat she will say, pray? i say, yes bella, we will pray. jim will walk her through what to say and it usually goes, dear-god, thank-you-for-food. bless it to our bodies. be with mommy, "e-ya," daddy"... (and whoever else we add in) AMEN! she gets so excites and screams the amen part. i'm so proud of how far along she's come. we've been working on our abc's and numbers. she's starting to use full sentences and very clear most of the time. it's hard to believe that my baby is almost no longer my baby, she's a big girl. she's so excited to be a big sister. we read "big sister" stories all the time. she says she is going to "pat, pat, pat" the baby. i guess i could go on forever about my sweet girl who is almost 2! which by the way when we mention birthday's she will tell you "2" because that's how old she's going to be. anyways, that's a summary of whats been going on here...can't wait to be an even busier mommy of two beautiful girls.
