onto new beginnings...

blogged this a month ago and forgot to post.

so...its been a while. life kind of happened and i totally lost time and energy to blog. i love blogging and i wish it hadn't taken me this long to get back at it. so here is what you've missed...

a year ago we felt God tell us to launch a church in Portland, Maine, so we put our house on the market and rounded up a team of people to pursue, Journey. after many trips to Portland for meetings, job change for jim, showings after showings, two trips to Alabama for trainings, disconnected friendships, feeling hopeless and faith tested a thousand times; we've officially sold our home and feel well in Bangor a bit longer than expected. you can say this has been an emotional process. life really hit me last saturday as we packed up our lives into a truck and into a storage unit. i know for most this isn't anything to you and others have it worse but for my family and i, our world has been upside down. we really had to seek a new direction with our church planting plans as jim had felt God speak to him about staying in Bangor. Now, if you know me at all, this was the most devastating thing at this moment in time. i just couldn't believe after 2 years of discussing, planning and Portland on my mind...we're exactly where we have been all along. Bangor has grown on me and i've learned to love and enjoy it so much. i mean...i'm totally done with all this SNOW and think why couldn't He have called us to somewhere warm? after two weeks i excepted and got excited again about staying in Bangor. it must have been God. i love the friendships i have built along the way and know God's in this and there just has to be a good reason.
after the weekend jim felt God tell him we were supposed to stay, we get an offer on our home after a year. so...we took it! crazy? honestly, things were tight and renting seemed like a better option at that point and not being tied down would be awesome. after almost a month of apartment hunting with two kiddos in tow, sometimes on my own, we're right back at our townhouse rental prior to our house, signed the lease the friday before we moved out. talk about stressed to the max! we seriously couldn't find anything that would suit our family comfortably for at least the next year. we moved out on march 14th, stayed in a hotel for two nights in bangor then off we went to Pa (here now) and then to mass to stay with family until we can move into our apartment on april 1st. jim is back in bangor for work. myself and the girls are just loving this time with family and know it was greatly needed. through this process we have learned a lot about church, people and ourselves. today i am grateful to just have each other and know the future is going to great, wherever we may be...
