we've had a fun filled summer to say the least. we've been to bar harbor a few times, vacationed in pa with jim's family (took bella to the zoo and aquarium), visited my family in boston, checkout belfast with my girls, melissa and her boys, played at the parks, had picnics, sleepovers for bella, the maine jump, playland adventures, took walks, bbq'd, went swimming in our pool, smores' and ice cream with friends. to finish up the summer we have two more trips planned, visiting my family again and beachin' it up in wells. i just love summer but i LOVE fall and can't wait to make more new memories.
a little about the girls.

bella has grown so much within the past few months. she's an amazing big sister. she loves her little sister so much. i have to constantly remind her to get out of sophia's face because all she does is smooch and hug her. she learned to count to 10, knows all her primary colors and is working on her abc's. she's obsessed with the movies, "gordy" (the pig) and "stuart little" (the mouse). she loves ice cream cones, freeze pops, the pool, her baby, daddy's car, her friends caroline (cur-oline), naomi (omi), pah-kah and layton. she's independent and has a great personality. i love to watch her dance and sing. she is so smart and far beyond her age. i have to often remind myself that she's only two. i love the sound of her sweet voice when we have conversations and that cute eye squinting smile. bella is at the age where she's picking up and mimicking everything we say and do. recently, she picked up one of my bad habits. i tend to say "frig" often and so bella now says it. i was driving back from the store the other day and she dropped her cup and i could of sworn she said it but i blow it off. later that night i was sitting with jim at the dinner table and she dropped her spoon and out comes, "oh f-wig"! we both couldn't help but laugh. it really is the cutest thing. i guess it could be worse! we've been having some challenges with tantrums and not listening. she's a bundle of energy and just doesn't know when to stop. she may look like a mini jim but boy is she me through and through! despite our clashing personalities, she brings such joy to my world.

sophia.
lets start off by saying, she is her own person. she's no bella by any means. unlike bella, sophia has been a bit more of a challenge. she loves to be held and loves only me or at least is only her happiest with me. bella was a breeze but this girl is a little fighter. she's finally on a routine and we've worked on a schedule that is full of entertainment. now, she is great! she's like her momma, she likes routine and consistency. sophia is such a joy. she's so expressive. she loves to coo and babble all day long. she is definitely advanced for her age but it could because she's almost the size of a one year old! her smile is infectious. she loves the water. we bought her this floating device for the pool and she loves it. sophia is an amazing sleeper. she started sleeping through the night a little before 2 months old. there are nights were she may wake up once through the night but i can't complain. she loves to snuggle. she started teething and is gnawing on everything. she recently discovered her thumb which is great because like bella, she wont take a paci. this girl melts my heart and i just adore this sweet girl.
life is busy and by no means is it easy but we have so much more to be thankful for. life with two has taught me to be humble and patient. i definitely don't have it all together most days but i'm overjoyed by the amount of love my little family brings to me daily.

spoken like a true mamma. every time I would tell my mentor moms, as I called them, something about Kristen, my friend Karen specifically would say to me well you know Julie, she is sooooo ADVANCED. IT became a joke that I readily laughed at, not because I did not believe it, but, that as Moms, our kids are the BEST to us, and We love them the BEST. Have more I say!!!! Every child needs a parent who thinks they are BRILLIANT. Its as important as our unconditional love.
