family monday's.
since i've become a mother, family time has become even more important to me. after almost 6 years of being away from "family" i guess i got used to not making time for it. now that isabella is getting older and can enjoy a lot more, i want our little family to spend more time together. when your in ministry often times everyone elses life and issues become your own and you tend to put yours on the back burner. not to get me wrong, i'm not trying to complain, i love being there for others and its what we have been called to do but sometimes it can really burn a person out. there is always something going on no matter the day or time. monday's are jims only day off from "church stuff" and we now take it serious. we take no work calls or emails unless its life or dead situations. i have to say, it's been wonderful. such as this past monday the three of us took a trip to bar harbor. i love bar harbor because i love being by the water. it makes me happy which then makes us all happy :) we really wanted to start teaching isabella how to swim. jim was a former life guard as a teen so he is used to trainer younger childrens. we ended up at echo lake which is located somewhere in the acadia region. it's clean, has bathrooms and changing rooms. as i said in my previous blog, she loves the water. she was a bit crabby at one point because she was cold and nap-less but we made it work. after the lake we got lunch at a local sandwitch shop while she napped. we played at the park, browsed the shops and had dinner. there seriously was no better way to spend a monday than with each other. we are going to make it a point to do something fun each monday and it doesnt even need to cost anything but just to get out of the house and enjoy summer. as we all know...it doesn't last long!
