here are a few of my favorite homemade household cleaners.
Household/everything cleaner:
Supplies:
• 1/2 cup or so of Potpourri Oil (i use ocean breeze from the dollar store)
Plus:
• 4 tablespoons Vinegar
• 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
• HOT water (enough to fill your bottle)
• Spray bottle
Preparation: If you want to recycle an old spray bottle: pour the vinegar, baking soda and hot water in the bottle, shake well and let sit for 1-2 days. Then rinse and begin the recipe!
Step One:

Mix vinegar, baking soda and essential oils in a bowl.
You’ll see the baking soda fizz a lot so make sure your bowl has enough depth to handle the bubbles. At this point, if the baking soda isn’t dissolving – don’t worry!
Step Two:

Add hot water and stir. usually, I do not measure this part, I just use my judgement. If you have a 16 oz bottle, you need just a little less than that (about 15 oz.) to mix (and so on).
Step three: Mix well and clean something!!
i was tired of buys swifter pads and solution. one, they're expensive and two, i found out the solution has the same ingredients as windshield wiper fluid! obviously, that isn't safe for either a crawling child or pet. so i went to target (had a coupon) or they have them at sam's club or walmart and purchased a RIVEAL mop. love this! you make you own solution and it comes with washable microfiber pads. talk about a huge money saver. plus, you can control what you was your floors with. here's what i use for my solution.
Laminate (pergo) hard wood floor cleaner:
To a measuring cup or jar, add the following:
- 1 part Water
- 1 part White Vinegar
- 1 part 2% Isopropyl Alcohol
- Few drops of liquid dish detergent
cloth diapers are my favorite! yeah, they're messy but they save me money and i love to save money :) plus, no diaper rashes! here is a cloth diaper detergent i found that works great and isn't harsh on my diapers.
