seasons.

welcome spring! we'll as spring as it can get in maine! its been awhile since i've blogged. life is just crazy busy. since i've been gone, we took a trip to pa to visit jim's family. *we* meaning isabella and I. Jim had to stay behind and work. :( we flew out of bangor (thanks for my amazing FIL) to philly where his (awesome) brother nick picked us up! isabella did great! besides my extreme anxiety before getting to the airport about the trip...i have to say, i had it all together and things went smooth. thank you "bangor international airport!" on the plane, thankfully the kid next to me gave us his seat as there were extra on board. he was either being nice or saw her and thought to himself i'd better move! it really was a good thing he did because she was bouncing back and forth between seats. i'm sure this was total coincidence but every time she's look out the window she'd yell, WOW! it was the sweetest thing ever! she had everyone laughing. she seriously makes strangers melt! during our visit we got to meet my *new* nephew, liam patrick funari. what a little wiggly worm! it makes me totally miss that age. it was so nice to see family and soak up what i miss the most. we also celebrated liam and my other nephew, chase thomas' dedication. as always, we funari's do NOTHING small! isabella had so much fun spending time with naunie, pop pop, uncle nick, aunt audrey, giovanna and nicky. uncle chris, aunt melissa, christian, chase and liam. aunt gina and abdo. great aunt gi, great uncle hunce. great aunt jen. lombardi's and so many more...as sad as it was to leave, we were happy to see jim back in maine.

bye, bye PA
another big thing since then. the brewer and bangor TRC merged into one location this past weekend. it was bittersweet. jim will now be the family pastor in bangor and won't be preaching each week. not a demotion but new roles as the lead pastor will be preaching most of the time. this has been a very busy, frustrating, joyful, and pure emotional time. God has a plan and his plan is always good.

update on my sweet girl:
she had her ten month check up this past week. she weighs 22 pounds, 10 ounces; 30 inches long. she is still 50 percent larger than most one year old! what a meatball. i guess i'm doing a good job ;)
shes going through a "whiny" stage. oh, how i despise whining. she is completely attached to my hip. i  love that she loves me but i also love to go to the bathroom in peace. it's a stage and every kid goes through it. it's times like this i wish i had family around. unfortunately, i just don't have that option like most.

well, that's all for now.

  1. you know, even though I had family around, my mothers first comment to me was "I am not a babysitter." Fortunately, I always had my husband. and, I might add, you have an awesome husband too! Family is who you include, blood, spiritual, or surrogate. I have all 3 and I have to say there are times I love the surrogates the best.
And yes, you are doing a great job to make your "little Meatball". Only the best for The Sweetest Princess ever!!!

  2. thanks julie. my family adore her and would take when whenever we needed. if i didnt nurse, when wed go home, id never see her. the option would just be nice. im thankful for those who arent "family" that we can call family but blood family is special. i guess being italians, we just need that! and yes, jim is wonderful!
